Dr. Saad Saad: A Pediatric Surgery Pioneer

By nearly all measures, Dr. Saad Saad has lead a remarkable and important life that has impacted the lives of tens of thousands of people. For the past 45 years, Dr. Saad has been one of the worlds greatest and most respected pediatric surgeons. Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine but grew up in Kuwait. Eventually, he attended Cairo University in Egypt, where 47 years ago who earned his medical degree, graduating with honors and achieving a class ranking of second overall. He went on to pass a medical exam that would allow him to perform his residency in the United States and work toward acquiring his pediatric surgery specialist certification.

 

After immigrating to the United States and finishing his residency, he earned his pediatric surgery certification and began practicing in New Jersey. He quickly became one of the most respected and ambitious pediatric surgeons in the world, performing high-risk surgeries on high-risk patients with astonishing success.

 

His reputation as an excellent surgeon, as well as his fluency in both Arabic and English, lead to him receiving a remarkable job offer: The family physician to the Saudi Royal Family. While it was a huge departure from his regular practice in the United States, the opportunity to work for the royal family, as well as pioneer pediatric surgery techniques in a country that was greatly underdeveloped compared to the United States, proved to be an opportunity to big to pass up.
